Your plate and how it could help weight loss

DSCF0679 (Small)-1Those that know us will remember that a long time ago we used to run residential weight management holidays deep in the Scottish Highlands (way before Boot camps become the ‘Z’ list celebrity gimmick!) at the fantastic Corrour estate.

Over the years we ran them we learnt and tried out a lot of tips and tricks to help people get a better grip on reducing their energy intake – basically different ways to reduce the amount of calories consumed during the day but in a way that did not mean counting every single one.  Perhaps one of the firm favourites related to something as ordinary as the persons plate… Continue reading

6 Week Personal Training Blogs

6 week collage

A few weeks ago we launched a competition to find a few people to go through a 6 week personal training course – in exchange for the free 6 week training we wanted honest accounts of how they are getting on in the form of weekly ‘blog’ posts.

These posts are completely anonymous and unedited by us in any way – we want to show the highs and lows of their training in the hope it will spur others on in their individual quests 🙂  Each week on a Sunday we will post their experiences on this page – check back to see how they are getting on 🙂 Continue reading

Pay as you go is back!!

We have decided to set up a pay as you go option for non-members to allow them to use the centre.  Only issue we have had to date is with the door entry system and how it operates, at present members get a pass code which they use to access the gym – this is now changing to a membership card without a code and we wondered how we might be able to make a pay as you go type system work.

We think we may have found a solution in the new membership system where a person can buy a certain number of pay as you go sessions up front – say 5, which then can be pre loaded onto the card – each time that person enters it will automatically deduct one session.  We think this is a great way to keep the gym running as it is but also allow a few non-members to attend.

We will be rolling the new cards out to members this month and the casual user pass will start in November – any question please drop us a line 😉
