Weights for Women – PART 2

We have had a number of requests to run the second part of the Weights for Women programme and have now chosen the start date – Tuesday 14th of June – 19:30 at NPC

We have been running female only resistance and weights programmes here at NPC to help women experience how this type of training can help with most fitness related goals and although they are a great introduction – they are just that – a beginning.

We decided to offer a bolt on second programme for those women that have completed the first and also for women that already use a small amount of resistance work in their programmes.

W4W – PT II

In this second part of the Weights for Women programme we aim to:

Week 1 – Recap and polish up on the first key exercises and skills learnt in the earlier programme.

Week 2 – Learn new exercises to add variety to your training

Week 3 – Learn how to maximise your results by tailoring reps, sets and resistance levels

Week 4 – Programme design – how to design your own resistance programme based on your goals, likes and experience.

As before this will be only open to females – both existing members of the centre and anyone wishing to come from outside.  It is 4 sessions (one each week for 4 weeks) and will run on a Tuesday night at 19:30 to 20:30.  This programme is a great chance to develop your training further and hopefully add a little more excitement and fun!

NEW 12 Week Guided Programmes

We are launching a new guided 12 week programme designed to help any number of weight loss or fitness goals.

The programme is designed specifically for the individual taking part and will include a detailed, bespoke fitness plan, 30 minutes of personal training each week and on going nutritional support.

This programme is very similar in design to the 12 week photo shoot programmes we ran a couple of years ago – the biggest difference though is there is no grand finale this time and a lot less pressure on a person regarding their nutrition.

The idea of the programme is to boost fitness, confidence and a persons training by offering a more tailored solution to a ‘standard‘ plan but without the higher costs sometimes associated with having a normal 1 to 1 personal training package.

The cost of the programme is £120 for members – non-members can simply train where they currently are – then just meet up up for the 30 min session each week here at NPC for their personal training session. That price includes all fitness plans, 1 x 30 min personal training session per week and nutritional support should that be required.

The programme is bespoke to the person taking part so the start date can be entirely chosen by them – this is not a ‘standard’ course that they would need to fit around – we want this to be as helpful to the individual as possible so will tailor it to their exact wants and needs.

Your next challenge

About this time of the year we get a little more focused on our bodies – perhaps because of a warm weather holiday or maybe just because the summer months tend to see people wearing less clothing 🙂

Whatever the reason, as a trainer this period can get a little busier than normal with people wanting to knuckle down and get back ‘on it’.  Certain types of marketing people also recognise this and we see a steady increase in body transformation type programmes with ever shortening durations – the 12 week ones are now too long for people so 8, 6 and 4 week plans start to promise amazing results in record times.

There is nothing fundamentally wrong with these programmes as i think people find them helpful – a start and end date can help people ‘stay on track’ when things get a little tougher for example.  We ourselves run boot camps and training courses designed to get people fitter, stronger and hopefully (if it is their wish) leaner, BUT – the thing to remember is that embarking on virtually any sustained and sensible plan will have a positive result.

Quite often people can not afford or do not have the time to commit to regimented boot camps – does that mean they are stuck?  Nope – we think (and have proved to ourselves time and time again) that a very simple, sustained and sensible 30 or 60 day plan can reward a person with great results.

We want you to set yourself a challenge – lets say 30 days where you will do something repeatedly and with your 100% commitment – as some of you will know we serve up a selection of Circuits of the Day (COD’s) here at NPC and they would make a great (and free!) challenge – simply subscribe to the YouTube page here and try and do 5 COD’s a week for 4 weeks – we can’t offer a guarantee as we always say you get out what you put in but we can say that they WILL make a difference to your fitness, health and they way your body looks if you work hard and pay just a tiny bit more attention to your diet 🙂

Parent and Tot’s group exercise sessions

We are thinking about introducing some group exercise classes aimed at both parents and toddlers. We know how hard it can be to balance getting or keeping fit and childcare so we figured why not bring the little rug rats along and get them moving with mum or dad 🙂

The session will run during the day time between school hours and will be in the main studio here at NPC.  The sessions will be suitable for any parent and children up to 5 years old – we think it will be great fun and also be a fab way to introduce and encourage fun exercise and activity into their lives!

It is just at the early stages at the moment but we’d be grateful if anyone that might be interested could get in touch via the form below – it will be open to both members and non-members so feel free to share the idea with any of your friends 🙂  Once we hear back from a few of you that may want to get involved we can get some more details together.
